Time to Get Together

My purpose in writing this page is to share some of my activity ideas and pseudo creations with people who may need an activity on the fly to entertain their family and friends. It is important to spend time with the people you care about. They need to know you love them as much as you need the same type of reassurance, so make time for each other. Anyway, onward to my weird activities:) Should you find something that could be improved upon or made more appropriate, please feel free to let me know.

This Is How Much You Mean

I adapted this from an activity we had at Enrichment one night. It works best for a small group of people who know each other fairly well. All you need is some paper and some pens, pencils, crayons, markers or any other writing utensil. Give each person a sheet of paper and have them fold it in half. They should then write their name on the outside of the paper, and they can decorate it if they choose. When everyone is done decorating their paper, they pass it on to someone else. People should anonymously write a positive quality of the person whose names appears on the outside of the sheet of paper and pass it on until everyone has signed it. At this point, the paper is returned to its owner so they can see how much they really mean to others. When skies turn gray, they can always return to these little scraps of love and read over them again.

Mormon Bingo

This game is played like regular bingo. A caller calls out the words (or definitions, letting the players figure them out for themselves) and the players mark any words that appear on their cards. I have my own Bingo files here for download or you can make your own. I randomly selected some scriptures and definitions pertaining to the gospel, so it is educational (or review) as well as great fun. I did neglect to bring prizes when I had this activity, but no one seemed to mind. I am sure I shall make a few more varieties when I get the time. Just cut out the cards and have a great time. They are in Microsoft Word format since most people seem to like that. The tables don't seem to work right in abiword, so I will have to convert them over when I get the time.
